Dear friends and colleagues:

In light of the escalating public health crisis, and in order to reduce uncertainty, it is with great regret that the conference committee has decided to cancel Transformations in Celebrity Culture, which was due to run 18-20 June 2020 in Winchester.

The process of reimbursing conference and accommodation fees is already underway, for those who booked via the University of Winchester online store. Details will be confirmed as soon as we have them, but we expect this to be an automatic process.

Of course, we deeply regret any financial losses that might be incurred due to non-refundable travel bookings. As such, if you are an unwaged colleague who will lose money, please let us know asap. If there are such cases, we will aim to set up a fund whereby salaried staff will be able to voluntarily contribute to help cover at least some of the losses of unwaged colleagues.

Conference registration is due to go live on Monday 3 February.

We will also publish accommodation details along with an outline of the conference schedule.

The full schedule will be published on Monday 2 March.

Due to UCU industrial action in the UK, notifications of acceptance will now be postponed until 8 December.
